• Position : Travel Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN)\n
• Unit : Med Surg – 2 North\n
• Assignment Type : 13-week travel contract\n
• Start Date : November 24, 2025\n
• End Date : February 23, 2026\n
• Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)\n
• Hours per Week : 36\n
• Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend, including holiday rotation\n
• EMR : EPIC\n
• Bed Size : 30\n
• Patient Ratio : 1 : 4-5\n
• Floating : Required across all Des Moines campuses\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $2020\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
• Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license\n
• BLS certification (AHA required)\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience (2+ years preferred)\n
• Post-operative surgical nursing experience (hip / knee, mastectomies, abdominal surgeries) preferred\n
• Ability to float to other hospital campuses as needed\n
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply\nMed / Surg RN Responsibilities\n
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including post-op surgical cases\n
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process\n
• Administer medications and manage IV drips (PCA, Heparin)\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes\n
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC EMR\n
• Float to other Med / Surg units or campuses as required\n
