Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care day shift position in Wisconsin, requiring 2 years of LTC experience and a valid WI or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Long Term Care (LTC) unit
  • Day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 3 : 00 PM, 4 shifts one week and 5 the next
  • Floating within the hospital as needed
  • Every other weekend required
  • Patient assignment of approximately 1 : 20, one RN per hall, med tech per hall, and CNA ratios of 1 : 8-10 days and 1 : 20 nights
  • Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), use of AIDET, and hourly rounding required
  • Responsible for bedside shift reporting, use of AIDET communication framework, and hourly rounding
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Holiday RTO is limited to only one holiday if multiple occur during the assignment
  • Returning travelers may not work more than one year consecutively and must take a one-year break after
  • Participation in emergency or natural disaster activities may be required
  • All required compliance labs and screenings must be completed within 48 hours of signing
  • Modules for orientation are completed during onboarding and tracked via Kronos

    • Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of LTC nursing experience
  • Current BLS certification (AHA required)
  • Experience with IVs, PICCs, and wound care preferred
  • Two professional references required, one must be from a supervisor
  • Cannot reside within a 60 mile radius of the facility
