Data Governance Consultant

Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Governance Consultant position for our client in Houston, TX.

Duration : 12 months

Duties

Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.

Monitor data quality metrics and KPIs using Tableau dashboards to provide actionable insights and continuous improvement.

Manage metadata and data lineage through Alation or similar platforms to improve transparency and compliance.

Collaborate with data stewards, business analysts, and product owners to define data standards, ownership, and stewardship processes.

Conduct data profiling, validation, and remediation efforts to support business and regulatory objectives.

Utilize data quality monitoring and observability tools such as Bigeye to proactively identify and resolve data issues.

Skills

Strong understanding of data governance practices including data quality, stewardship, lineage, and classification.

Proficiency in Tableau for building interactive dashboards tracking governance KPIs and data quality metrics.

Hands-on experience with Alation (or similar metadata tools) and Bigeye (or similar data quality platforms).

Advanced SQL skills for data profiling, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis.

Competence in Excel and / or SAS for data validation, exploration, and remediation support.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills for engaging with cross-functional data stakeholders.

Experience

5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles within enterprise environments.

Proven experience implementing or supporting data governance frameworks and related technologies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
