As a Registered Nurse in our Cardiac Cath Lab, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology (IR) procedures. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients throughout their cath lab and IR experience.

Primarily 4x10s (7 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM), may flex to 5x8s (7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM) based on weekly need; 40-hour guarantee.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the preparation, setup, and operation of cardiac catheterization equipment and monitoring devices
  • , including cardiac output, hemodynamic, pacemakers / ICD’s, and intra-aortic balloon pump
  • Administer medications and IVs as required during cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology (IR) procedures.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms, making immediate assessments and interventions when necessary
  • , with proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding the cardiac catheterization and IR procedures and recovery.
  • Collaborate with interventional cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • , including scrubbing in for procedures with the physician (preferred, not required)
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document all aspects of care on appropriate data sheets in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
  • , using Epic EMR
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean, and sterile environment in the cath lab.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cardiac care.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members as needed.
  • Provide nursing support for pre / post-procedure care and IR procedures, transfer patients, stock supplies, and perform basic office procedures.

Qualifications :

  • Current, active RN license (Michigan or compact); BLS and ACLS (AHA-required).
  • Minimum 1 year Cath Lab experience (required; 5 years preferred).
  • Interventional Radiology and Electrophysiology (1+ years) experience, intra-aortic balloon pump knowledge, and cardiac rhythm interpretation (highly preferred).
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in Epic EMR.
  • On-call availability up to 12 shifts / month (weekends / holidays).
