McMinn County Health Department is seeking a full-time Public Health Dentist.

About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Provide Clinical dental services to patients to prevent or eliminate dental disease.
  • Facilitate onboarding, training and continuing education of assigned staff and their work.
  • Utilize quality improvement methods to ensure and maintain efficient and effective clinic processes, including patient flow.
  • Analyze monthly productivity reports to identify issues or areas of improvement.
  • Monitor clinical productivity and review other clinical reports on a regular basis.
  • Identifying the developmental needs of others, coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Supervise local dental care staff, including supervisory administrative duties and performance management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Tennessee Board of Dentistry and the Tennessee Department of Health Essential to the control of preventable diseases and maintenance of dental health.

Basic Dental Treatment Provided

  • Diagnostic – exams and digital x-rays
  • Preventative – prophylaxis, sealants, fluoride treatments, oral hygiene instructions,

    • nutritional counseling

  • Restorative – fillings, silver diamine fluoride, pulpotomy, children stainless steel crowns
  • Periodontal – scaling and root planning
  • Oral surgery – simple extractions and select surgical extractions
  • Emergency care – address patient’s acute pain

    • Qualifications

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) dental licensure in the State of Tennessee is required.
  • Unrestricted DEA license is required.
  • Candidate should be a self-directed problem solver possessing excellent clinical skills and significant clinical mentoring experience.
  • Candidate must be a quick learner, have strong computer skills and have the ability to adapt to constantly changing environments, including new electronic dental and medical record systems.

    McMinn County Health Department offers great benefits including :

  • McMinn County Health insurance Premium payments vary based on the selected medical plan and the number of individuals covered. The county covers 100% of the individual premium, which is currently $746.66, and contributes between $367.19 and $754.79 toward dependent coverage. Employees pay between $448.50 and $754.80 for dependent coverage.

    • Work Hours :

    Monday through Friday 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm

  • 37.5 hours

  • Annual salary from $134,232.00 per year paid biweekly
