As a Security Officer - Armed Shelter Patrol Specialist in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and promoting a secure environment within a shelter location. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help prevent incidents, and provide exceptional customer service while interacting with residents, staff, and visitors. Position Type : Full Time

Pay Rate : $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time Thur 06 : 00 AM - 06 : 00 PM Fri 06 : 00 AM - 06 : 00 PM Sat 06 : 00 AM - 06 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and / or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, helping to de-escalate situations as needed.
  • Perform regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter, helping to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible armed presence.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorized entry, addressing any unauthorized access in accordance with site protocols.
  • Assist with crowd management and support shelter operations as needed, maintaining order in designated areas.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity, completing detailed reports for Allied Universal and site management.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders during emergencies, following established protocols.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Have at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
