Special Education Teacher

Hoonah City Schools in Hoonah, Alaska is looking for a special education teacher to work with our K-12 program. The candidate must hold, or be able to secure an Alaska teaching certificate for the 2025-2026 school year.

Hoonah is a school of approximately 100 students and the teacher will work with students across all grade levels K-12. Our special education program serves a total of about 20 qualified students in general education classrooms and other settings.

We have a talented group of paraprofessionals working with individuals and small groups. Our special education teacher helps schedule and supervise those efforts. A contracted special education director is onsite monthly and related service providers for speech, occupational and physical therapy, and behavioral therapy are also contracted for regular visits.
