The Clinical Application Specialist plays a vital role in onboarding new clinical staff, delivering EHR training, assisting with system configuration, and troubleshooting day-to-day issues. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement in a healthcare setting.

Coordinate and configure system access for new clinical staff and support initial onboardingDevelop, update, and deliver training materials to ensure efficient and compliant use of the EHRFacilitate hands-on training sessions for clinical usersAssist with system rollouts, new feature implementation, and upgrade readiness testingProvide direct support to clinical users by responding to technical questions and workflow challenges related to the EHRTroubleshoot application issues and escalate complex cases to internal IT or OCHIN support teamsMonitor work queues and assist with resolution of duplicate records and user errorsMaintain key system components such as user access, security templates, and provider profilesCollaborate with clinical teams to evaluate and enhance EHR workflowsProvide best practice guidance for documentation, navigation, and system functionalityParticipate in quality improvement initiatives by aligning system usage with clinical standardsAssist in testing and implementing changes to improve system efficiency and effectivenessMaintain current knowledge of organizational policies and EHR system updatesAdhere to HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of PHIRepresent Clinical Informatics in team meetings and cross-departmental projectsSupport a safe, inclusive, and high-performing work environmentQualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED requiredPreferred Bachelor degree in Health Information Management, Information Systems, or Computer SciencePreferred RHIT or other advanced IT / IS trainingExperience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a clinical or healthcare settingProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn new software toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting information to diverse audiencesStrong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesPreferred Experience
