Job Summary : is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Roman Shade Assembler to construct custom window treatments from start to finish. This role is the culmination of our production process, requiring a versatile individual who combines precision sewing, accurate measurement, and meticulous hands-on assembly. The ideal candidate takes immense pride in their craftsmanship and has an unwavering commitment to quality, transforming cut fabric into a perfectly functional and beautiful finished product.

Key Responsibilities :

Accurately read and interpret work orders to understand shade specifications, including dimensions, control placement, and special features.

  • Precisely measure, mark, and press fabric to create exact, crisp folds according to specifications.
  • Sew side hems and pockets for support rods / dowels using an industrial sewing machine.
  • Meticulously hand-sew or attach rings and lift cords with perfect spacing to ensure the shade functions flawlessly.
  • Assemble the finished shade by mounting it to the headrail, stringing the cords, and installing control mechanisms.
  • Conduct thorough quality control checks on every finished shade, testing for smooth operation, even folds, and overall cosmetic perfection.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work station, ensuring all tools and materials are properly cared for.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Required : Exceptional ability to measure with precision using a tape measure, yardstick, and ruler; must be highly proficient with fractions.
  • Required : Meticulous attention to detail and outstanding fine motor skills for detailed hand-sewing and small component assembly.
  • Proven experience with both industrial machine sewing and hand-sewing techniques.
  • Strong mathematical skills for verifying measurements and ensuring the correct spacing of components.
  • A methodical and consistent work ethic, with the ability to follow complex instructions exactly.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how components work together to create a functional product.
  • Previous experience in a workroom environment fabricating draperies, shades, or upholstery, is highly desirable.
