Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 00). Flexibility to float between all campuses as needed, with weekend coverage every other week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will provide specialized care for cardiac patients. Responsibilities include monitoring patients post-cardiac catheterization, caring for individuals with acute coronary syndrome, managing dysrhythmias, and facilitating care for patients with chronic heart failure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac telemetry and progressive care nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to patients in the PCU.
  • Administer medications and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips as per protocols.
  • Monitor patients for signs of complications and respond appropriately using rapid response protocols.
  • Conduct patient assessments and interpret EKG results.
  • Assist with procedures such as central line management and PICC line care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding health management and discharge planning.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Cardiac Telemetry and PCU.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic charting systems, particularly EPIC.
