Position : Remote Community Affairs Advisor

Department : Integrated Marketing - Mercy Share Services

Shift : FT Days - 40 / hrs per week

Overview

The Community Affairs Advisor serves as a liaison between Mercy and community leadership, focusing on areas where Mercy is expanding or strengthening its presence, while also maintaining and deepening engagement in its largest communities. The role strengthens Mercy's reputation by fostering communication, cultivating meaningful community relationships, and ensuring responsiveness to local needs, while promoting programs and services and gathering feedback to guide organizational efforts. The Advisor collaborates with community leaders at all levels to advance Mercy's business goals and strengthen its reputation and brand among key decision makers. The position also aligns closely with the Federal and State government relations teams to ensure seamless integration on public policy issues and opportunities.

Qualifications

Experience : 10 years of public affairs success.

Education : Bachelor's degree in government relations, marketing, business, communications, and / or public relations. Demonstrated experience may be gained from prior roles, through completion of college degrees, or a combination of applicable professional and educational experiences.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities :

  • Familiarity with the communities Mercy serves.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely, as well as presentation skills.
  • Executive presence and ability to connect, build rapport, and establish trust with individuals and groups.
  • Organized, reliable self-starter with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and respond effectively to new challenges.
