We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse RN Vent Unit Manager to lead our specialized Ventilator Unit. This is a great opportunity for an RN leader who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is ready to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the clinical operations of the Ventilator Unit, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and facility standards
Supervise and support nursing staff to provide exceptional resident care
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and manage care plans
Assist the DON / ADON in directing daily nursing operations
Participate in on-call rotation with three other nurse managers
Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required
Ensure new admissions are welcomed, rooms are prepared, and care plans are initiated
Conduct rounds with physicians as needed and provide direct nursing care when necessary
Maintain reference materials (e.g., PDRs, federal / state regulations) and ensure nursing staff are informed and compliant with procedures
Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure continuity of care
Lead staff meetings and participate in planning department services, programs, and activities
Ensure adequate supplies, medications, and equipment are available to meet residents' needs
Complete administrative tasks including medical forms, evaluations, charting, and incident reports
Develop and manage work assignments for nursing personnel
Ensure all staff are aware of residents' care plans and follow established protocols
Qualifications :
Must possess, at minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college / university or be a graduate of an approved RN program
Must have at least 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care, or related healthcare setting
Current, active, unencumbered RN license in the state of North Carolina or a compact state
Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in long-term care or sub-acute rehab
Ventilator / respiratory care experience is required
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as federal / state regulations related to long-term care
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with a collaborative mindset
Ability to make independent decisions and remain calm under pressure
Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding)
Ability to engage tactfully and respectfully with staff, residents, families, and outside personnel
Patience, compassion, and a positive disposition with a willingness to work with all resident populations
Experience using PointClickCare is a plus!
