Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse

Job Title : RN Obstetric Care Unit (OCU)

Location : Chinle, AZ 86503

Duration : 13 Weeks - Extendable

Shift Schedule : 6-7 shifts / 2-week period (Can be rotation)

Qualification :

License : Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in any State of USA

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Certification

Experience : Shall have 3 years of nursing experience, with a minimum of 1 year in the Obstetric Care Unit

Responsibilities :

• Shall provide full range of Obstetrical and newborn infant care to patients admitted to Obstetric Care Unit (OCU).
• Knowledge of the nursing process and its application to clinical practice in order to provide individualized, goal- oriented nursing care to the laboring, postpartum, antepartum and newborn patients.
• Knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the Indian patient.
• Knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness relating to Obstetrical and newborn infants and is able to recognize complications and implement appropriate nursing / therapeutic intervention required.
• Shall cross train to Women's Health Clinic (WHC) when short staffed.
• Shall make patient unit assignments, specifically deciding assignment to postpartum, newborn, labor & delivery units. Contractor shall ensure narcotic inventory, daily checks and logs are completed in a timely manner.
