Stock Clerk

The Stock Clerk loads the displays and shelves with groceries and merchandise for sale to the customers.

Essential duties and responsibilities include retrieving, loading, and unloading products and merchandise onto carts; operating department equipment and tools; assisting with the unloading of delivery trucks; keeping the work area clean and orderly; greeting customers with a smile and providing excellent customer service; reporting maintenance and safety issues; supporting other departments when needed; and maintaining punctuality and good attendance.

Secondary duties and responsibilities include retrieving shopping carts from the parking lot; assisting with bagging when needed; assisting cashiers with price checks; and performing general cleaning duties such as mopping and sweeping.

Competencies, skills, and qualifications include the ability to read and speak English and Spanish; understanding and following instructions in both languages; using department equipment properly; presenting information effectively; demonstrating good interpersonal skills; taking responsibility for own actions; applying common sense understanding; performing basic math; and working scheduled hours, including holidays and weekends.

Physical demands include standing, walking, using arms and hands, reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, talking, hearing, and seeing, with frequent stooping, crouching, and using the sense of smell, and occasionally sitting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling.
