The Job Description : Position / Specialty : PICU RN Charge Start date : mid-Oct flexible Ratios : 1 : 3 Shift : 3x12s 19 : 00-07 : 30 nights Years of experience REQ : 2 years exp required CHARGE EXP REQUIRED - hard stop [will consider Peds Preceptor exp] level II trauma exp required First-timers accepted : Yes Weekend REQ : Yes - up to every weekend. Certs REQ : CO / Compact RN license ACLS BLS PALS Is on-call REQ? Yes - 1 mandatory on call per 4-week schedule - rarely happens. No floating - managing Peds PICU Locals accepted - w / n 75 miles BR is 5 less than listed BR 5 days or less RTO preferred - NO XMAS RTO BETWEEN 12 / 24-12 / 27 Charting : EPIC Info : Our unit ratio is acuity based so you can care for three patients. An example of a three patient assignment is respiratory patients such as HHF or a combination of 3 less acute patients. You will not care for 3 ventilated patients. New trauma patients are 1 : 1 when less critical will transition to 1 : 2. We are a combined Pediatric and PICU unit. We have 20 pediatric beds and 8 PICU beds and share a CN.
