Responsibilities Position based in the Emergency Department within a hospital setting 3x12 hour day shifts from 9 : 00 to 19 : 30 with every other weekend and holiday required May be required to float to other units within the hospital as needed Patient population includes a wide variety of emergency cases Travelers are the first to float within their scope of experience Will provide emergency care for a diverse patient population First-time travelers are welcome to apply Completion of non-billable online modules will be required prior to start One major holiday off is typically allowed during the winter season Requests for time off must be submitted with the initial application and changes cannot be made after offer acceptance Block scheduling and scheduling restrictions cannot be guaranteed or requested Return travelers must have been away from the system for at least 6 months; former staff must have been gone for 12 months to be eligible After one contract and one extension, a 6-month break is required before return to the same facility or unit Requirements Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required Current AHA certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred Two satisfactory professional references required, including one from a supervisor or manager and one from a charge RN Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627922.
