Midland University, a small, private four-year institution in Fremont, Nebraska, (just outside of metro Omaha) is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Fundamentals of Oral Communication (Speech) courses in person on campus. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, designing engaging classroom activities, providing timely feedback on assignments, and responding to student inquiries within 24-hours, meeting with them individually as needed. Courses are offered in 16-week terms. Terms begin in August and January.
Required Qualifications :
- A master's degree in communication or a closely related discipline with 18 graduate hours in communication
- Experience teaching at the college level or teaching / training adults is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications :
PhD or ABD (all but dissertation) statusExperience teaching in a synchronous and / or asynchronous online formatFamiliarity with the Canvas LMSThe ideal candidate should demonstrate :
