Essential functions include processing and reviewing routine paperwork, maintaining department records, greeting and directing visitors, making calls and answering telephones, responding to requests, performing fiscal functions, and training others in agency-specific processes.

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email programs, reviewing and editing documents, dealing with the public tactfully, telephone etiquette, and preparing records, reports, and correspondence are required. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 0-2 years of progressive work experience in Business Office Communications or a combination of education and experience.

Physical working conditions include sitting comfortably, some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, and driving an automobile. All positions within the Department of Family Services will require a background information check, including fingerprinting.
