Overview

York Space Systems was founded to radically improve spacecraft affordability and reliability, transforming, and enabling next-generation space mission operations worldwide. York is an innovative aerospace company specializing in end-to-end customer solutions and rapid production of spacecraft platforms. York's complete Space Segment Solution includes spacecraft production, payload integration, system integration & test, launch services, ground segment services, and mission operations. We're looking to expand our team across the board.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manufacturing & Test Process Engineer to create and optimize manufacturing work instructions for spacecraft at York's Harbinger ADC. The role is part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to establish detailed process documentation for spacecraft assemblies and develop integrated workflows to support large-scale production. Success requires close collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure best practices are documented and implemented. You will support data-driven scheduling initiatives that align with company delivery goals and guide effective use of Epsilon-3 systems. This role will directly impact improving spacecraft manufacturing quality and productivity through evaluation and implementation of new technologies in support of Harbinger ADC objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain manufacturing process plans and work instructions; develop and execute roadmaps to streamline production using new tooling, equipment, and technologies.
  • Revise Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the Engineering PLM system, collaborating with the SV Engineering team to finalize production BOMs post-development.
  • Develop and validate manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment; design efficient production line layouts to optimize spacecraft assembly.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical and production challenges, minimizing disruptions to workflow.
  • Provide direct floor support for SV development and prototyping at Harbinger ADC, including hands-on support for assembly, integration, and test of space hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–10 years of professional experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electronic and mechanical assembly drawings and translate them into step-by-step manufacturing processes.
  • Preferred experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C / C++).
  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes, including hand soldering, bonding, conformal coating, wiring, and crimping.
  • Experience managing BOMs in an ERP environment and collaborating with design engineering to implement changes.
  • Knowledge of nonconformance processing, root cause analysis, and corrective action execution.
  • Proficiency in common software tools (e.g., MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Jira).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Benefits

In addition to compensation, York Space Systems offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance along with PTO and a 401K.
