Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join an Emergency Room team for night shifts, requiring Cerner experience and key certifications.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Emergency Room of an acute care hospital33-bed ER with 2 trauma bays, 12 fast track chairs, and 4 psychiatric observation roomsPatient volume averages 240-260 per day with primary stroke, psychiatric, homeless, and substance abuse casesNurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity : 1 : 4, 1 : 2 for ICU, 1 : 1 for TPA administrationUses Cerner FirstNet EMR; Cerner experience required12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requiredNo floating required for this positionNavy scrubs requiredMust be able to titrate and manage pressors and TPA independentlyTravelers generally will not be assigned to trauma bays unless deemed qualified by skills and clinical judgmentTeam includes ER techs with EMT licensure, 24 / 7 RT, 24 / 7 pharmacy, and in-house security presenceResponsible for reading and interpreting own cardiac monitor strips; 12-lead EKGs read by MDOne major and one minor holiday coverage expected per assignmentOrientation includes six shifts on the unitReturn candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past yearRequirements
Active, unencumbered RN license for the state or compact (NLC); license must be in hand at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent ER experience requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications requiredCOVID vaccination required per hospital policyCerner EMR experience requiredMust provide two professional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsCopy of valid driver’s license requiredBenefits
