Excel Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Potsdam, New York.

  • Role : Respiratory Therapist
  • Shift : Nights, 3x12 (19 : 00 – 07 : 00)
  • Schedule : Every week + rotating weekends / holidays
  • Duration : 91-week contract
  • Scrubs : Any
  • Daily Census : 12–18 patients
  • Facility Size : 100 beds | 6-bed ICU
  • Unit Coverage : ICU, ED, Med-Surg, Peds, newborn stabilization

    • Requirements

  • Experience : Minimum 1 year (critical care / ED preferred)
  • Licensure : Active NY RT license (must be in hand to submit)
  • Locals : Not accepted within 75 miles
  • Traveler Status : First-time travelers accepted
  • Certifications (must-have) :

    • ACLS (AHA)

  • BLS (AHA)
  • CRT
  • NRP
  • Preferred / Additional : RRT, PALS, STABLE
  • Charting : Epic (required; MediTech preferred experience helpful)

    • Skills / Duties

  • Airway & Ventilation :

    • Extubation, trach care / suctioning, nasal / oral airway management, suctioning

  • BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC
  • Troubleshoot high pressure alarms, weaning, mechanical ventilation
  • Medications :

    • Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Racemic epi, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex, steroids (Flovent, Pulmicort, etc.)

  • Procedures :

    • Aerosol setups (mask / trach), MDI, T-piece, trach collar

  • ABG interpretation, sputum collection
  • Occasional EKGs after hours
  • Patient Populations : Adults (primary), plus peds & newborn stabilization prior to transport

    • Equipment

  • Preferred vents : Servo I, LTV, Hamilton T1
  • Other equipment : Oscillator, Jet Vent, Medihaler, Aerogen, metaneb
