Overview As a barista manager at Press, you will train, schedule, and supervise work-study students, conducting interviews in collaboration with the general manager. You will prepare food, maintain proper supply levels based on business needs to ensure product quality, and perform monthly counts to order retail inventory. Among other duties, you will manage merchandising, complete orders for food and beverage supplies, and ensure the restaurant remains clean, neat, and organized. Additionally, you will filter communications to the team under the general manager’s guidance, foster a positive team environment, and provide support as needed.
Responsibilities In this role, you will review the restaurant environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement. You will provide coaching and guidance to the shift team to help achieve operational goals. Responsibilities include developing and implementation of Press policies and procedures, maintenance of excellent health inspection scores, and the demonstration of fiscal responsibility with awareness of labor and food costs. At the end of each shift, you will reconcile money and complete orders. Additionally, you will ensure the restaurant is clean, neat, and organized, and set a positive example for those on shift.

Minimum qualifications At least two years of progressively responsible café or barista experience
At least one year of food and beverage service experience
Experience directing the work of others
Preferred qualifications Employee management experience
Certificates, licenses, and registrations Valid driver’s license
Approval as a SCAD-authorized driver
Travel Less than 10%
Work hours The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and / or hours, including weekends and evenings.
