Travel RN Job Details Position : Travel Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Unit Location : Carbondale, IL 62901 (Southern Illinois healthcare jobs) Healthcare Setting : Primarily surgical department with medical overlap Unit : 35 private patient rooms, two nurses stations Shift : 12-hour night shifts Weekly Hours : 36 hours per week Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 9 / 2 / 2025 – End : 12 / 2 / 2025) Staffing Ratio : 1 : 5-6 nurse to patient ratio; patient care techs on each shift Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend; flexible holiday scheduling Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,780 - $1,910 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required) Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical (med / surg) nursing experience Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills Experience with surgical and medical patient populations preferred BLS certification (preferred for travel nursing jobs) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in a med / surg hospital setting Monitor, assess, and document patient status, progress, and vital signs Collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and patient care technicians Support patients through surgical recovery and medical treatments Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for optimal patient outcomes Participate in shift handoffs and communicate effectively with the healthcare team Take your nursing career to the next level with this exciting travel nurse job in Southern Illinois.
