MAIN FUNCTION :
Responsible for building, testing, implementing and optimizing assigned applications and systems. Serves as the resource person for the daily operational and support issues of all assigned systems. Works collaboratively with the Information Systems Department, as well as all other departments in the organization. Provides hands-on training as needed. Participates in module / application testing and implementation for the organization, including release upgrades, system optimizations and process improvement activities.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS :
- Associates degree in an I.T related field with two years of information systems experience or Bachelor's degree in an I.T. relevant field.
- Excellent communication, customer service and team building skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including proficiency in the use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES :
Meditech hospital information systems experience.Four plus year's hospital experience or 4 plus years Information Systems experience (pertaining to applications supported).Experience with Microsoft Access.Knowledge of and experience with programming language concepts, macros, rule building, attributes, etc.High degree of analytical skills; recognizes and responds appropriately to problems and challenges.POSITION EXPECTATIONS
Oversees the day to day operation and ongoing development for assigned applications.Systems Analysis : Ability to analyze processes, systems, etc., and effectively plan work tasks and strategies.Project priorities : Projects are prioritized, developed with supported department and followed through efficiently.Demonstrates good organizational skills that provide an efficient means of managing multiple tasks.Monitors applications supported for efficient use and for error detection.Demonstrates knowledge of Meditech and other assigned systems software functionality and capabilities for applications supported.Education and Training : Provides education and training on applications supported, including properly updated education material.Leadership skills : Ability to lead project teams or groups of users towards a common objective.Establishes and creates a positive team environment through leadership and mentoring.Provides quality customer service, serving as an exemplary representative of the organization's mission, vision and values.Demonstrates knowledge of Meditech and other assigned systems support procedures and protocol.Communication skills : Communicates effectively, comfortably and appropriately with users, other employees, management, physicians, and external contacts.Documentation skills : Documents projects, functions, processes, procedures, and meetings thoroughly.Support Meetings : Support meetings are held with departments regularly or as needed to evaluate the needs of the department.Installation of software : Installs and updates new software and software changes to Hospital Information Systems assigned.Participates in department on-call as scheduled or when necessary.Demonstrates knowledge of Meditech's MIS module, including security concepts, spooling, report scheduling, and menu concepts.Demonstrates knowledge of Meditech operational system functions and computer operation's functions. This includes knowledge of the Meditech operating system.Takes initiative and ownership of issues, is responsible, organized and efficient, and focused on goals.Demonstrates knowledge of hospital standard personal computer software.Demonstrates knowledge of Meditech' s NPR & MAT Report Writer tool effectively and efficiently. Thorough knowledge of Meditech database organization.Utilizes thorough testing methods when testing functionality of software for accuracy.Consistently performs and handles responsibilities in an independent manner with little or no need for direct supervision. Must be a self-starter.Must be aware of current and new trends in information systems and computer technology, particularly with new advances and options available with applications supported.Ability to travel to obtain training, attend meetings, etc. as requested.Understands, promotes, and follows all Information Security best practices.Performs all other duties / special projects as requested.
