This position contributes to the company's success by providing oversight of professional architectural and engineering services for the development, design, and construction management of construction projects, mainly on or supporting airports, throughout delegated operational area. Performs projects within the parameters of user requirements, budget, time, and internal / external rules and regulations. Provides the organization with cost effective, efficient, and properly planned facilities that will maximize customer experience with operational efficiency.
Ensures that delegated projects are completed on time, to specification, and within budget.
Facilitate the preparation of all project related contractual documents. Responsible for the compilation, preparation, and execution of contracts and change orders.
Works cross-functionally with Design, Environmental, & Legal staff and other headquarters departments to support system wide construction and branding related critical initiatives and program deployments.
Prepares individual project cost estimate(s) applying historic building construction cost data, contractor / vendor quotations, etc.
Develop approval and contract drawing documentation to delineate and subsequently contract for specific project scopes.
Attends airport technical design meetings to obtain information and requirements for mandated and discretionary construction projects, participates in the large-scale facility planning processes, and advocates key strategic positions.
Works with consultants, contractors, and vendors while working with specified staff to resolve all construction issues and assure conformity to contract documents, codes, and corporate standards and design intent.
Collaborate with Operations staff to determine project program needs and to develop and prioritize scopes of work based upon these program requirements.
Develop yearly capital budgets for construction related projects and assist financial planning with monthly CapEx and forecasting.
Reviews, recommends, and authorizes payment of consultant, contractor, and vendor invoices. Obtains vital backup documentation and resolve invoices and assure prompt and reliable payments to maintain individual project schedules.
Surveys and makes comments as to physical property condition and recommends improvements prior to leasehold acquisition of properties.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or other related area of study with applicable experience.
Minimum of 5-10 years of practical construction management experience.
Proven track record in construction and project management.
Up to 40% travel required.
Extensive knowledge of construction activities and professional roles associated with the construction industry.
Excellent communication and social skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to manage various 3rd party teams simultaneously.
