CVICU RN Job Details Location : Pikeville, KY (41501) – Kentucky nursing jobs Facility : 340-bed Level II Trauma Center Unit : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Assignment Type : Locum tenens / Travel RN contract Contract Length : 13 weeks Start Date : September 22, 2025 Shift : Nights, 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM (12-hour shifts) Hours per Week : 36-48 guaranteed (except holidays / orientation) Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday required (unless approved for time off) On Call : Every other weekend (7p-7a, Sat & Sun) Float : May float to Med Surg or ICU with lower ratios; may assist as an aide in other units Scrub Colors : Royal blue Estimated Weekly Salary : $1630-$1750 CVICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 4 years of recent CVICU nursing experience Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Center required Active Kentucky or Compact RN License (Registered Nurse license) Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required Certifications : AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS (must be submitted with application) EKG test required during compliance process Experience with Care View / EPIC charting preferred (on-site training available) COVID-19 vaccination required (declinations accepted with weekly testing at own expense) Strong clinical skills, adaptability, and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare setting CVICU RN Responsibilities Provide advanced cardiovascular and intensive care to critically ill patients in the CVICU Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient conditions using critical thinking and clinical expertise Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes Float to Med Surg or ICU units as needed, maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during weekends and holidays Maintain accurate documentation and utilize electronic health records (Care View / EPIC) Assist as an aide in other hospital units when required Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
