Job Description

Electro-Mechanical Assembler 2nd Shift

Metals USA Gregor Technologies Division is seeking an ELECTRO MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER in Torrington, CT. Metals USA is a solid, growth-oriented aluminum / stainless steel distribution center servicing the defense, aerospace, and fabrication industries.

Responsibilities : \n

  • Reads, interprets, and follows basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions to accurately assemble product.

\n

  • Utilizes handheld tools such as a hand-held screw and drill gun.

    • \n

  • Assembles parts using automatic wire cutter, crimping or grinding machines.

    • \n

  • Assembles motors, pumps or compressors using press fixtures, pneumatic guns or hand tools.

    • \n

  • Performs end-of-line tests using computer-based equipment.

    • \n

  • Performs spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards.

    Occupation requires physical activity more than 66% of the time (>

    5.5 hours per day)

  • Stand, walk, sit, handling / fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bend

    • \n

  • Regularly performs repetitive tasks

    • \n

  • Physical dexterity to put parts together

    • \n

  • Lift, carry, push and / or pull 51 100lbs with assistance

    • \n \n

    \n

  • Two-year technical degree and / or apprenticeship

    • \n

  • 3 5 years of electro-mechanical assembly; should have prior wire installation experience

    • \n

  • Must have mechanical & mathematical aptitude

    • \n

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, documents and blueprints.

    • \n

  • Ability to read measuring instruments such as measuring tapes, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gauges

    • \n

  • Computer Literacy with understanding of computer programming and CAD / CAM

    • \n \n
