We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cost Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and influencing the financial outcomes of our construction projects. This role involves the application of specialized expertise in cost and contract management to support the successful execution of our construction projects. The Senior Cost Estimator will be responsible for developing comprehensive, detailed project capital cost estimates to help ensure projects are delivered within budget and scope. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on exciting, high-profile projects and is ideal for someone with a passion for numbers, a strong understanding of the construction industry, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities :
1. Develop and maintain accurate, detailed cost estimates that reflect the scope and scale of construction projects.
2. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Prepare and present cost reports and budget outlines for management.
4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues related to cost estimation.
5. Utilize cost-estimating software and tools to maximize accuracy and efficiency.
6. Analyze blueprints and other project documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
7. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns and provide solutions to mitigate risks.
8. Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to control costs.
9. Provide consultation on planning, scheduling, and cost summary reports.
10. Continually monitor project costs and report significant variances to stakeholders.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in contract management and project management.
4. Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes.
5. Proficiency in cost-estimating and project-management software.
6. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
9. Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Professional certification in cost estimating or project management is a plus.
