The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and service as directed to all departments and business units within the New York Yankees. Support and services will include the following areas : corporate / commercial transactions, general corporate matters, regulatory compliance, and other functions within the Legal Department.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Support the New York Yankees on a broad range of corporate / commercial transactions, including with respect to : ownership interest transfers; financings; real property; joint ventures; acquisitions; investments; advertisers and sponsors; ticket holders; technology licenses; media and other rights licensees; commercial vendors (including stadium operations vendors); events; and government entities.
• Support general corporate matters, including : creation and maintenance of corporate entities; transactions affecting corporate structure; and corporate secretary functions.
• Render advice regarding operational legal documents including in the following areas : corporate structure; advertising and sponsorships; ticketing; stadium operations; media relations; community relations; security; finance; events; and human resources.
• Render advice regarding city, state, federal and foreign laws and regulations, as well as MLB rules and regulations, applicable to the New York Yankees’ businesses; develop and support regulatory compliance routines and tasks; and work with and support employees in responding to regulatory requests, reporting and other matters.
• Support the Legal Department with respect to its internal functions, including document management, budget management and information tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality of all tasks; interact with all internal and external constituencies collaboratively, professionally and consistent with the New York Yankees’ high standards.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Salary range : $185,000 - $225,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including the applicant’s years of relevant experience, qualifications for the position, and unique skills.
