Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

EVD experience and Joint Commission stroke certified facility experience required.

Telemetry RN experience is required.

First-timers are not accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level 1 Academic Medical Center.

Epic charting experience is required.

100% nicotine-free facility.

Description :

This position is for a 20-bed unit providing intensive care to adult patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, strokes, epilepsy, and other head traumas.

Patients do not go to the recovery room post-op; they will return to the unit for recovery.

Staff should be prepared to care for up to five Med Surg patients.

EVDs are placed at the bedside.

Patients with EEG leads implanted in the brain to detect seizures can be on the unit for up to three weeks.

The shift requires the management of drips on all floors.

RNs will float within the scope to meet facility needs.

Working weekends is expected, with 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.

Mandatory scrubs are required; RNs must wear specified scrubs with the designated logo printed on the back.

Compliance with a 100% nicotine-free environment is essential, and suspected nicotine use can lead to termination.

All contracts must end on a Sunday.
