About the Opportunity :
Northwest Talent Solutions LLC, in partnership with a leading global food manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Electrical & Automation Engineer to support high-speed production operations on the second shift. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoys solving complex automation challenges that drive safety, quality, and performance.
What You'll Do :
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation equipment.
Develop and implement PLC programs (Allen-Bradley) to enhance line performance and efficiency.
Lead system optimization projects that reduce downtime and elevate production throughput.
Partner with maintenance and operations teams to ensure preventive maintenance is executed effectively.
Maintain documentation and reporting on system performance, equipment reliability, and process improvements.
Supervise and train shift electricians, ensuring safety, compliance, and technical excellence.
What We're Looking For :
5+ years of experience in automation, controls, or electrical engineering within manufacturing.
Strong PLC programming skills ( Allen-Bradley required ).
Working knowledge of HMIs, VFDs, SCADA systems, and industrial networking.
Experience with SAP-PM, work orders, and asset management.
Hands-on approach with strong analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a high-performance, 24 / 7 manufacturing environment.
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb steps, and work in variable temperatures.
Preferred Education :
Bachelors or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
