Overview

Essential Functions and Responsbilities :

Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into Allscripts.

Uses critical thinking skills to interpret information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to follow complex dental processes

Makes sound decisions and sets goals based on available information and evaluates situations and requirements to plan and adjust work accordingly.

Projects accurate future occurrences based on current or historic data.

Strong math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as work with fractions and percentages accurately.

Handles all patient requests via phone or email.

Prepares non-inventory purchase order requisitions.

Investigates and resolves problems associated with the processing of charges.

Prepares batch reconciliation reports.

Assists with monthly status reports and monthly closings.

Reconciles various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate billing standards.

Selling Points

He talked about how it's a unique organization and they need to be OK with their mission - very nice people, strong leadership, family-oriented culture. He said their mission can be a turn off for some people. He described it as similar to APLA or LGBT center (I told him LGBT center is a client of ours). Also it sounds like people from those organization would probably work really well.

3-5 Must Have Skills / Qualifications

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;

Two to three years' related experience and / or training in medical billing (commercial & government); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient in MS Word and Excel Software and tech savvy.

Sharp / savvy, aware of some of the scrutiny involved with grant funding and associated billing audits (they've had great luck pulling from similar associations like APLA Health and LGBT Center)

8 to 4 : 30 or 5, core window is 8 to 4 : 30. If someone needs 9 to 5 that's fine, they can be a little flexible, just not 11 to 7 or something.
