A bachelor's degree in information technology systems computer science or a related field and experience in information technology systems or a related area Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basisRequired Skills :
Basic to moderately complex knowledge of data network services and data communicationsModerately complex to complex knowledge of methods of data network design and equipment configuration requirementsModerately complex to complex knowledge of office automation systems information processing operations fiber optics and microcomputer hardware / software as they relate to the latest trends in data networks connectivityModerately complex to complex knowledge of computer system analysis design testing debugging and maintenance techniquesAbility to assist with presenting technical and non-technical reports in a clear and concise mannerPreferred Skills :
Advanced network configuration & protocol knowledgeSkilled in cable management patch panels fibre optics and troubleshooting in telecom / network closetsAbility to produce clear comprehensive documentation of configurations procedures and incident logFamiliarity with wireless infrastructure cloud networking (SD-WAN Azure) and VoIP technologiesJob Responsibilities :
Install and implement LAN and wireless infrastructure including switches cabling APs and other componentsTroubleshoot and resolve moderately complex network issues and implement root cause preventionMonitor and optimize network performance document incident resolution pathsMaintain and update SOPs diagrams and technical documentationAssist in hardware / network design configuration and infrastructure planningMaintain a complete and updated network equipment inventory and assist in lifecycle planningEvaluate new networking technologies and provide integration recommendationsFacilities and Dashboard Support Tasks :Collaborate with Facilities and Finance to update the master inventory of CLIENT locations including :Property ownership (county / private / CLIENT lease)Address county square footage network bandwidthParking details access control systemsPrice / cost CLIENT positions assigned to facilityWork directly with James on floor plan / system inventory updatesAdd details to office floor plans including workstations and equipment placementsProduce and maintain a centralized dashboard (working jointly with relevant DTS staff) that :Displays all facility dataProvides links to floorplans (PDF / CAD)Pulls in CLIENT personnel count facility components and system dataEnsure facility data is well-documented and available in reportable formatAdditional Project-Based Tasks :Perform physical audits and cleanup of network closets labeling and organizing to industry standardsUpdate and maintain CAD / PDF “as-built” network diagrams including cable pathways patch panels and rack layouts for all 68 CLIENT office locationsConduct on-site cellular signal strength assessments using SIM-based tools to support SD-WAN carrier selectionDeliverables :Network closet audit reports (with before / after photos and patch documentation)Up-to-date floorplans with workstations and network layouts for 68 officesMonthly summary of activities hours worked and progressSOPs and documentation for patching and network closet standardsDashboard implementation and associated facility dataAdditional details :
