Job Description
As a Respiratory Therapist in this role, you will be responsible for providing critical respiratory care to patients of all ages. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and manage patients with various respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions, ensuring high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.
Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and aerosolized medicationsPerform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas analysis, and chest physiotherapyEducate patients and their families on respiratory care practices, home care, and disease managementCollaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plansMonitor and assess patient progress, adjusting therapies as neededRespond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions when necessaryMaintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans and diagnostic resultsEnsure respiratory equipment is properly maintained and calibratedAdhere to all hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelinesEducation & Certification Requirements
Associate’s degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited programRespiratory Therapy (RRT or CRT) certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications requiredState licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in Montana1+ years of experience in respiratory therapy, ideally in a clinical or hospital settingSkills & Qualifications
Expertise in administering respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic proceduresStrong knowledge of respiratory diseases, patient care techniques, and therapiesAbility to assess, monitor, and adjust patient care based on clinical feedbackEffective communication skills for patient education and teamworkAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm during emergenciesCompassionate, patient-centered approach to careCompensation & Benefits
