Old Overton Club is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Banquet Supervisor. The ideal candidate will excel in a hospitality environment and focus on delivering exceptional service across Troon-managed clubs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review assigned banquet staff functions and menus prior to events.
- Conduct pre-banquet meetings to ensure standards of appearance and hygiene; assign stations; review banquet event orders.
- Coordinate with the Banquet Manager or designated coordinator to ensure all event details are planned and executed properly.
- Implement timely updates and instructions for events.
- Manage inventory of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items; requisition additional supplies as needed.
- Inspect room setup before events and coordinate with the Banquet Chef on food quantities and timing.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment and supplies.
- Perform audits during events to monitor food quality and service standards, including temperature, presentation, and upselling opportunities.
- Review banquet schedules regularly for updates and special events.
- Incorporate safe work practices into daily tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Friendly, courteous, and respectful demeanor, especially when serving guests.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Extensive knowledge of food preparation and service.Physical stamina to handle heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform strenuous activities.Problem-solving and delegation skills.Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED; 3-6 months related experience or training, or equivalent education and experience. An associate degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus but not required. Typically, 3+ years of professional experience as a food services manager is preferred.Other Qualifications :
