Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer role at LER TechForce. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, practical curiosity, and a passion for problem solving. This role offers the opportunity to work with complex systems and technologies, from design and integration to testing and validation, while contributing to innovative solutions in a dynamic engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks according to general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and / or reporting.
  • Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may be responsible for managing multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with other engineering or business support disciplines internally and with suppliers externally.
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians on common projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards; ensure technical issues align with company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability; perform and direct the preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance for production support and analyze / resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations; create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to model system performance and optimize designs; communicate status as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full-time, onsite presence required.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on curiosity and problem-solving approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program in one of : Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying root-cause problem-solving methodologies.
  • Background in electro-mechanical system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with product testing, test labs, or hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience creating engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition tools and post-processing techniques.
  • Stand-Out Skills

  • Proficiency with 3D CAD design tools and modeling.
  • Prior exposure to military combat systems.
  • Knowledge of video signal design and transmission systems.
  • Qualifications Summary

  • Experience in electro-mechanical system integration and product testing environments.
  • Strong technical writing and data acquisition familiarity.
