Senior Accountant - Construction Industry

Position Summary :
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in leading the month-end close, maintaining accurate financial reporting, and providing meaningful analysis to support decision-making across the business. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the month-end financial close process for assigned business unit(s), ensuring timeliness and accuracy
Prepare complex journal entries and perform all month-end close activities in accordance with company policy and GAAP
Complete monthly account reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies
Generate, analyze, and communicate key financial data - including actuals, variances, and budget performance - to leadership
Analyze trends in costs, revenues, and project performance to support forecasting and strategic decision-making
Partner with project management, operations, and finance leadership to ensure accurate job cost reporting and financial alignment
Support internal and external audit processes and maintain proper documentation and controls
Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation of best practices within the accounting function
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
4+ years of progressive accounting experience; construction or large project-based industry experience highly desired
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and multi-entity accounting
Proficiency with large ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Viewpoint, or Sage 300) and advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
