Nurse - Part-Time

Daughters of Charity Ministries in Emmitsburg, Maryland is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. This position is 8 hours per week.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Assist in the planning and delivery of nursing care to the Sisters of St. Joseph House following standards and practices grounded on the philosophy of the Daughters of Charity. Will also : oversee care provided by the Nursing Assistants, administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician, while meeting basic standards of care / licensure, and advocate for the Sister's well-being.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Assist in the provision of the individualized, goal directed, nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and other members of the patient care team.

Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with each Sister-resident.

Follow procedures for charting to ensure the maintenance of accurate and complete patient records.

Report defective equipment or unsafe conditions to appropriate person(s).​​​​​​​

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position, which may involve the following : standing and walking 2 / 3 of the days; sitting 1 / 3 of the day; use of hands to finger, handle or feel; reaching, bending, and stooping; talking, hearing; lifting up to 75 lbs. 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 of the day.
