Job Description Structural Professional Engineer (PE)

Location : Rittman, OH | Regional Travel Across Ohio & Neighboring States

Industry : Structural Steel Fabrication & Erection

Spartan Capital is representing a family-owned, minority business in the structural steel industry with more than 40 years of proven success. Due to growth, our client is seeking a Structural Professional Engineer (PE) who will serve as the technical authority ensuring every component fabricated and erected meets the highest engineering, safety, and code standards.

Responsibilities

Review, approve, and stamp structural steel shop drawings and erection plans.
Ensure compliance with AISC standards, OSHA, building codes, and project specifications.
Analyze connection details, load paths, member sizing, and stability.
Perform calculations for temporary bracing, crane picks, and sequencing during erection.
Provide engineering solutions for field modifications and unexpected conditions.
Conduct or oversee inspections in the shop and at job sites.
Collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, detailers, fabricators, and field supervisors.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across teams.

Qualifications

Active PE License isrequired.

7+ years of progressive engineering experience.

Must have permanent U.S. work authorization (, green card holder, etc.). Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Strong background in structural steel; construction industry experience strongly .

Proficiency in CAD and related design software.

Expertise in establishing connection standards, calculations, and fabrication / erection practices.

Ability to balance office engineering review with hands-on shop and field problem-solving.
