Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care

Strong communication skills appropriate to the developmental age of patients

Description :

The Clinical Nurse is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units.

The nurse ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care.

Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization.

Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.

Treats colleagues, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.

The nurse is responsible to the Patient Care Director or Manager.

The work environment involves exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other patient care areas.

The nurse must handle emergency and crisis situations, with prolonged standing and walking required.

The role requires heavy physical effort to position, push, and / or transfer patients or equipment and supplies.

The nurse should possess considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching abilities.

Visual and auditory acuity must be within normal limits or correctable.

Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination are also required.
