Expected Duration : 3+ months of contract with possible extension

Pay Range : $20.00 - $23.00 / hr.

Job Description : Position Purpose :
The Care Engagement team supports member health by scheduling preventive care, educating on benefits, completing health needs screenings, and reducing barriers to care. This telephonic role focuses on reaching vulnerable Medicare members to encourage adherence to preventive care and support services.
Key Responsibilities :
Make outbound or receive inbound calls to schedule doctor appointments, complete Health Needs Screenings, and assist with benefit eligibility.
Influence and educate members about available enhanced benefits and recommend preferred providers.
Explain the impact of non-emergent Emergency Department usage.
Identify and overcome barriers to care (e.g., transportation, scheduling, payment).
Review member profiles prior to outreach to identify open care gaps and benefit opportunities.
Participate in quality improvement efforts to meet / exceed departmental goals.
Analyze call data and adjust approach as needed.
Serve as a secondary resource to Member or Provider Services teams.
Document all activities accurately and timely.
Handle ~10 calls per hour, following call scripts and engagement guidelines.
Required Qualifications :
Education - High School diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of experience in a call center, customer service, sales, or healthcare environment OR a bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or a related field with 1+ year experience in similar environments.
Experience - 1-2 years in a call center or provider office.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience using multiple systems / screens during calls.
Comfortable with outbound calling (10 calls / hour average).
Preferred :
Knowledge of medical terminology
Familiarity with HEDIS care gaps and social determinants of health (SDoH)
Top 3 Required Skills :
Ability to fully engage members in supportive, educational, and persuasive conversations.
Ability to multitask across multiple systems / screens while maintaining natural conversation flow.
Accurately complete assessments to close HEDIS care gaps.
Performance Expectations :
10 outbound member calls per hour.
Accurate and timely documentation.
Successful scheduling of preventive visits and screenings.
Demonstrated understanding of member benefits and ability to educate effectively.
