Gastroenterology Physician

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an inpatient-only Gastroenterologist with ERCP capability for scheduled coverage gaps in 2025 and 2026 in a facility in Deep East Texas. The role focuses exclusively on hospital consults and procedures no outpatient responsibilities with patient and procedural volume varying daily.

Credentialing Timeframe : days (emergency privileges possible)

Job Details & Responsibilities

Facility Type : Acute care hospital

Patient Volume : Up to 10 inpatient rounds / day + procedures as needed

Procedures Required :

Endoscopies

Colonoscopies

ERCP (Required)

Types of Cases : GI bleed, SBO, food bolus, ulceration, gastritis, abdominal pain, carcinoma diagnosis (no treatment)

Admissions : Managed by hospitalists (not the GI provider)

EMR : Paragon (transitioning to EPIC in late 2026)

Support : Endoscopy-trained GI nursing staff; anesthesia backup available (conscious sedation preferred)

Required Skills & Qualifications

Board Certified in Gastroenterology Highly Preferred

Board Eligible Accepted

ERCP Proficiency Required

Texas Medical License Required

ACLS Certification Required

Completed Gastroenterology Residency Required

Malpractice History : Clean malpractice and medical board record Highly Preferred

Availability : Must specify how many weeks / month you can provide coverage
