Overview

We design and deliver software that creates meaningful employee and client-facing experiences that inspire and engage people, driving behavior change and business success. As a Senior UX Designer on the Embark User Experience team, you will lead the design execution for the current Embark platform , while also contributing to the future Embark platform , the Embark design system , and AI-driven design innovation .

This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that requires deep experience designing complex enterprise software, exceptional visual design skills, and a passion for emerging technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Design Leadership to deliver high-quality, on-time UX and visual designs. You’ll also support early-stage concept exploration and prototyping as we evolve the Embark platform into the era of AI. As you will be working with a distributed global team, flexibility in scheduling is required to support collaboration across time zones.

In this role, you’ll help shape how employees and clients engage with the Embark platform, whether through intuitive HR experiences or innovative, AI-driven tools. Your work will directly influence the quality, usability, and scalability of both the current and future Embark platforms, as well as the design system that supports them. Success means delivering elegant, high-impact designs that meet real-world needs, accelerate product delivery, and elevate the overall user experience across a global audience. Your contributions will help define the future of digital HR communication and set a new standard for enterprise design excellence.

Current Embark Platform

Lead UX and visual design execution for roadmap features, including the AI Virtual Assistant.

Collaborate with Product Owners and Developers to deliver high-quality, on-time designs aligned with business priorities

Ensure all designs meet usability, accessibility, and branding standards.

Future Embark Platform

Support the design of branded HR site templates and administrative tooling

Deliver UX and visual designs that scale across employee-facing experiences.

Work under the direction of the UX Architect to ensure consistency and quality.

Design System & Innovation

Contribute to the Embark software design system (SDS) by supporting the development of visual and interactive design components, UX patterns, and structural standards.

Participate in early-stage design explorations and concept prototyping for AI-driven innovation.

Help shape design vision decks and communicate strategic opportunities through compelling visuals.

Collaboration & Execution

Deliver interactive Figma prototypes to support effective review and developer handoff.

Participate in design critiques, giving and receiving feedback professionally

Provide overflow support to other designers and workstreams as needed.

Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a commitment to continuous learning and team success.

Requirements

5-7+ years of experience designing complex enterprise software, ideally within regulated industries

Exceptional visual design skills with a strong portfolio demonstrating clarity, consistency, and craft

Proven ability to deliver high-quality UX and UI designs in fast-paced, agile environments

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Product Owners, Developers, and Testers

Proficiency with Figma and modern design tools

Understanding of front-end development technologies and component libraries (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PrimeNG)

Strong understanding of UX best practices, accessibility standards, and responsive design

Demonstrated curiosity and passion for AI-driven design innovation

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight

A strong sense of personal agency and a “can-do” attitude

Comfortable working remotely with distributed global teams and flexible scheduling needs

Ability to present user experience design and work sample of completed projects during interview process is required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing enterprise tools that support HR communications or employee engagement

Familiarity with generative AI design patterns and emerging AI-driven user experiences

Hands-on experience with front-end development technologies and component libraries (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PrimeNG)

Experience working on complex SaaS platforms within regulated industries

Strong storytelling skills and experience contributing to design vision decks or strategic presentations

Passion for inclusive design and accessibility best practices
