  • OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

    Can understand plans

    Operate and maintain all striping equipment

    Understand pavement markings, painting, taping, and grinding

    DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Installation of pavement markings utilizing the latest equipment.

    Operator will be responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.

    Operator will be responsible for the operation, minor maintenance, and overall appearance of the trucks.

    Follow directions of Supervisor as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.

    Perform daily pre and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.

    Properly document hours of service.

    General laborer duties associated with asphalt paving, patching or prep crews.

    Required ability to shovel, rake, and handle other small tools.

    Equipment cleanup as needed.

    May be called upon to run small power tools.

    Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.

    Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control

    devices.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.

    Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

    Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

    Must have a valid drivers license

    Pass pre-employment drug screen.

    Pass a pre-employment DOT physical.

    Be able to work overtime when required.

    Must have strong work ethic

    Ability to work in a team setting

    Report to work at the designated start time.

    Communication skills; Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.

    Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

    Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

    Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required.

    Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas.

    Strong attention to detail

    Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

    Previous related experience in the construction field and / or training.
