Sydor Optics, Inc. is a Rochester based manufacturing company fabricating flat-surfaced, precision optics for over 60 years. Our manufacturing facility is in Chili, NY just west of the Rochester International Airport. Our Sales Team works closely with customers to assist them with custom requests for a variety of markets ranging from entertainment, semiconductor, medical, military and more. Position Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for the fabrication of optics.

Qualifications :

Education / Certifications : High School Diploma or equivalent.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience :

  • Basic Blueprint reading
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good math and reading skills.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.

Essential Functions

  • Basic operation of equipment.
  • Replacement of polishing pad when damaged or worn.
  • Regular cleaning and basic upkeep of equipment.
  • Use of micrometer to measure thickness of parts.
  • Handling and cleaning of optics.
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
