American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring NE or compact licensure, night shifts, and the ability to circulate in the OR.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital on a Level 1 Trauma Labor & Delivery unitUnit includes 16 labor rooms, 9 antepartum rooms, 7 triage beds, 3 OR suites, and 36 postpartum bedsPatient population includes high-risk OB and routine obstetric careNurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines : 1 : 1-2 labors, 1 : 2-3 antepartumRNs are required to titrate drips including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain medicationsElectronic charting with Epic; EFM system is ObixNight shifts are 12 hours (1830-0700); required to work every third weekend, but could be up to every other weekendHoliday coverage required for 1 major and 1 minor holidayFloating to Postpartum and occasional house float as sitter requiredPrimary responsibilities include care of laboring mothers, circulating for C-sections, and routine newborn careMust be flexible to float to Postpartum and occasionally function as a sitter within the hospitalTeam structure includes 2 OBTs per shift, 24 / 7 physician and anesthesia coverage, and a charge RN each shiftSurgical scrubs are provided and must comply with the no artificial nails policy; failure to comply is grounds for terminationRNs will receive 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientationRTO (requested time off) must be submitted up front, with a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contractHoliday and weekend work is required according to unit needsFirst time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact RN license at the time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience requiredCurrent BLS, NRP, and Intro to Fetal Monitoring certifications required; pending certifications not acceptedExperience circulating in the OR requiredCompetency with normal newborn assessments and care requiredMust be able to titrate common obstetric dripsDriver's license required to confirm radius eligibility (must live at least 50 miles from facility)May not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity\n Benefits\n
