Overview

Strategic Business Systems is seeking an Enterprise Database Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in EDB Postgres to join our Managed Services team. Reporting directly to the Technical Lead, this role is responsible for providing Tier I and Tier II support across client environments. The successful candidate will handle day-to-day database administration tasks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure stable, reliable performance of EDB Postgres databases. This role is ideal for someone who has solid technical skills, a strong customer service mindset, and is looking to continue developing expertise under the mentorship of a seasoned Technical Lead.

Job Description

  • Coordinate technical delivery with the partner and / or end customer
  • Coordinate / oversee technical escalations
  • Assist in monitoring onboarding and technical training of new team members
  • Actively participate in "Governance" or "Team" calls or meetings and provide documentation as needed
  • Monitor CMMC, NIST, Payment Card Industry (PCI) or other compliance as necessary
  • Monthly audits to confirm knowledge base (KB) articles are created as applicable
  • Ensure Run Book and all other documentation is kept up to date for each customer
  • Ensure the shift checklists are accurately maintained
  • Record meeting notes for all technical calls with customers, provide action items to team and ensure appropriate follow up
  • Automate reporting to the extent possible
  • Collaborate with Technical Lead on monthly internal team training sessions
  • Provide training and / or mentoring of less experienced team members
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers
  • Maintain professional communications at all times
  • Support team on presales engagements as required
  • Support billing as required with gathering and analyzing data
  • Other duties as assigned by SBS Management

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required
  • 3+ years of backup EDB Support experience in the IT Enterprise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented self-starter with a positive outlook and a clear focus on team success
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks
  • Proficient using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Military service a plus
