Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Cryo-ultrasonic hardware development - Cobra Scientific is pioneering a new generation of nondestructive testing (NDT) inspection systems for complex-shape components fabricated with additive manufacturing methods. Cryo-ultrasonic testing (Cryo-UT) is our groundbreaking technology, and we are seeking experienced engineers to build the second-generation hardware systems to encase complex-shape parts in blocks of ice with controlled microstructure. These systems include ice powder production units, liquid nitrogen directional freezers, vibration compaction machines, and vacuum systems. Cobra Scientific, LLC, manufactures and integrates automated and manual NDT equipment and fixtures for ultrasonic and eddy current NDT in industries such as Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Power Generation. Our systems typically incorporate various levels of motion control, data acquisition, and data analysis. Our implemented technologies include multi-axis, robotic ultrasonic flaw detection systems (both conventional and phased array) and eddy current single-point and array-based inspection systems. We seek experienced engineers who can rapidly produce creative technical solutions, work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
