A Control Panel Design Engineer is senior -level engineering role responsible for leading the design and development of complex electrical control panels for industrial automation systems. This position requires deep technical expertise, project leadership, and mentoring of junior engineers. The engineer will ensure designs meet al regulatory standards, customer specifications, and internal quality benchmarks.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a thorough understanding of motor control and panel building layouts, along with having worked with motor controls and processes and assisted in their development and maintenance along with controls programming. This position will have the opportunity to grow through design, engineering and manufacturing of motor controls.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the design and development of advanced electrical control panels using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
- Proven tract record of owning all phases of the product lifecycle through to post-release support and continuous improvement
- Oversee the creation of detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMS
- Ensure compliance with UL508A, NEC, IEC, an other applicable standards
- Technical proficiency in addressing customer inquiries and support sales teams
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, or related field5+ years of experience in control panel design and industrial automationAdvanced profiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar platformsExperience designing low voltage AC / DC power distribution systemsStrong understanding of control system architecture, wiring practices, and industrial componentsProven experience with regulatory compliance and safety standardsExcellent leadership, communication, and project management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality results under tight deadlinesPreferred Skills :
Experience with ERP systems and integration of BOMS into procurement workflowsFamiliarity with PLCs, HMIs, motion control, and industrial networkingKnowledge of lean manufacturing and design for manufacturability principlesExperience working in regulated industries (e.g., food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive) Oil & Gas, water / wastewater, and irrigation is a plus.This position is onsite located in Hernando, MS.
