Must haves :

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience with gynecologic oncology coding.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Plusses :

  • Additional certifications such as Certified General Surgery Coder (CGSC) or Certified Gastroenterology Coder (CGIC).
  • Experience with Athena / Epic EMR
  • Urology Coding Experience

    • Day to Day :

  • Review and analyze medical records for gynecologic surgery and oncology patients.
  • Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Ensure coding compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines.
  • Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation as needed.
  • Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and refining coding policies and procedures.
  • Provide coding education and support to clinical staff.
